TAHITI: Henry Nott

Henry Nott hadn’t had a very good education, he was a bricklayer, he’d just had the basic education. But this very faithful man decided to learn Hebrew and Greek and to translate the Bible into Tahitian. He learnt Tahitian very quickly and in 1885 after 30 years of translating he put down his quill and the Tahitian bible, which incidentally uses Jehovah’s name in both the Hebrew and the Greek sections of the Bible.
